The King’s School – St. Radigund’s, Canterbury

JC White are working with Durtnells on a project to re-site a day house for 75 King’s School students. The location is a dilapidated Grade II listed building on St Radigunds Street, along with the back of a neighbouring shop and a car park and house on Duck Lane. The site is of archaeological importance as it contains the remains of a medieval hospice which is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. As well as monitoring the historically valuable parts of the structure during development works, JC White is also providing setting out and a condition survey to support the project.

Curling

One evening in February the JC White team took time off work to try something a bit different – Curling. We headed over to Fenton’s Rink near Tunbridge Wells where we watched a short video, had some brief tuition and then we were on the ice. According to Fenton’s website, Curling is ‘a game of skill, precision, fitness and fun’. Well, it was certainly the fourth of thoseand some of us rediscovered biceps and triceps we’d hadn’t used for a while with all that sweeping but more practice might be required before we can claim to be skilled and precise on the ice.
