Boundary Dispute

Expert Witness

boundary dispute

J C White Geomatics Limited has over 20 years' experience producing reports suitable for submission to the Court for boundary disputes. Reports are written in accordance with Royal Institution of Surveyors (RICS) guidelines and the relevant Civil Procedures Rules. The following procedure is generally followed when preparing a report:

Should the boundary dispute require to be decided by the Court, J C White Geomatics Limited is experienced in attending Court as expert witness.

On occasion, prior to Stage 5, plans and a covering letter will be submitted to the client and/or his/her solicitor to advise of our initial findings. At this stage the client may decide not to proceed any further.

Single Joint Expert

If it is agreed by both parties or ordered by the Court, J C White Geomatics Limited can act as Single Joint Expert and produce a comprehensive report.

Mediation

This is often the most cost effective solution to a boundary dispute, but requires the co-operation of both parties and their willingness to resolve the dispute. J C White Geomatics would normally carry out a boundary survey and produce a report similar to that required if acting as an expert witness. Meetings would be held with both parties at the property and endeavours made to negotiate an agreed position for the boundary.
